Not trashy

The London Science Museum is holding a new exhibition to illustrate how technology can reduce throwaway fashion.
‘Trash Fashion: Designing out waste’ will showcase a range of garments that reduce fashion waste and it’s impact on the environment. These include 3D body scanning technology to create perfectly fitting knitwear, a jacket grown by bacteria that live on green tea, and stitch-free clothes that are cut, joined and patterned using laser technology.
The above pic shows upcoming Australian designer Donna Sgro’s work. Donna is one of the exhibitors who uses laser technology in the process of creating her collections.
The exhibition will run at the Wellcome Wing at the Science Museum, London, from June 2010 until February 2011.
